Another hole-in-the-wall find! 808 Hawaii Mixed Plate opened about a month ago, and with the recommendation of friends, we went there for lunch. Their menu had all the typical hawaiian foods, and here’s what we tried first: Roy’s – Summerlin http://www.roysrestaurant.com Oh noes! I waited too long to recount my memories of each dish. So, I am missing a lot of details. I remember that we ordered two spring tasting menus consisting of something like…. Seared ahi, Asian Shrimp salad, roasted chicken. We also shared [...] ISLAND FLAVOR 8090 S Durango Dr Coming back from Hawaii recently, I was definitely missing the delicious island food. Good thing we has Island Flavor here in Vegas, a mom pop shop opened by hawaiians. I ruv dericious mom-pop restaurants! So here’s the run down. Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts I tried the green tea mochi icecream and the strawberry mochi icecream. The mochi itself comes out pretty firm from the freezer, but starts to soften up as you eat it. The icecream inside is creamy and mild in flavor. Conclusion: [...] Alan Wong’s Restaurant…. ok, ok, not my friend, ALLEN WONG…. Some people say Alan Wong’s is over-priced and over-hyped and others say it’s the best thing ever since sliced bread. I think I lie somewhere in between. I tried the 7 course tasting menu, like you’d expect [...] Waiola Shave Ice It’s a cute lil’ shack of a convenience store/dessert corner know for their delicious shaved ice and multitude of options for it. For my first concoction, I chose banana and coconut flavored syrup with mochi on the bottom and condensed milk (yes!!!) on [...] Aloha Kitchen & Bar – can’t go wrong with spam, fried egg with runny yolk and rice after a long night of partying. The awesome thing is that they are open until 5 am!!
