[Update 7/15/2014: Now have been renamed to Babystacks Cafe for the past few years, probably due to conflict of name with another Babycakes. Also, they have another convenient location in the southwest on Buffalo near Flamingo.]
If breakfast places had a hierarchy, then Babycakes is the ruler of them all! They rule in the realm of salty and sweet. All other places bow down to the new cool kid on the block: Babycakes Cafe!
Easy enough to find in the Northeast corner of Buffalo and Smoke Ranch, there was not one moment where I was not impressed. The ladies serving were all incredibly sweet and service was top notch.
– The fiancé ordered corned beef hash and eggs which comes with crispy nuggets of happiness (hash browns). The corned beef hash had the reminiscent lingering taste of childhood memories associated with the canned deliciousness that is corned beef hash. mmmmm comforting canned food….
– Chicken Adobo Fried Rice. Anyone who’s had chicken adobo knows that it is one bomb filipino dish. Add that into fried rice, even better! Wrap that into a fluffy egg wrap. Mind blowing! The fried rice inside consisted of shredded flavorful adobo chicken and super greasy (not a bad thing in my mind). Add a touch of siracha, I fell in love at the first bite.
– Red Velvet Pancakes. Holy moly baloney! This is the best breakfast marriage ever! Red velvet cake is awesome by itself, and making into pancake form kicks its deiiciousness to unbelievable levels! The texture of the pancake itself had a very slight crispiness on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. Add in a healthy dollop of whipped cream and chocolate bits on top, I don’t even think I needed to use the cream cheese syrup at all. Sweet sweet pancake bliss……… mmmmm
Conclusion: Babycakes, you are the ruler of my breakfast world. Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep. Count ’em 5 beepz.
