Eggs ‘N Things
343 Saratoga Rd
Honolulu, HI 96815
We finally gave in on our last day in Honolulu and decided to wait to try Eggs ‘N Things. At 8:30 am, boy was it crowded! For two people the estimated wait time was 55 minutes and it was actually really close to the estimate and was 50 minutes. I think that for those 50 minutes I was positively entertained because the host was very charming and efficient. By efficient, I mean that they passed out buzzers approx every 15 minutes to patrons and he read names in English and Japanese and even gave a short Japanese bit to every Japanese tourist. It was even more amusing because the host was decidedly NOT Japanese. Fantastic! Finally, our buzzer went off and we headed straight up to the 2nd level dining area to be seated and greeted by our sweet server.
I was in mood have something “lighter,” so I chose something with spinach in it. I had the Spam, Spinach, Mushroom and Cheese Omelette with rice. So much for being lighter, huh? 😉 I wasn’t too wow’ed by my dish and found the inside just too soggy to continue eating the rest of it. The fiancé ordered his usual meaty type scramble, the minced Portuguese Sausage, Ham, Spam, or Bacon w/ Green Onions with potato. I sure made the wrong decision ordering the rice, because the crispy little flavorful potato cubes were tasty nuggets of starchy goodness.
Conclusion: Above average breakfast for Ridiculous wait times. It’s a convenient breakfast place in waikiki without having to drive. I’ll take it! 3.5/5 beepz.
Tip: Go extra early or later to avoid the crowds.
