Liliha Bakery has a neighborhood bakery an diner feel that I really enjoyed. Though as a non-local finding Lolita via yelp, I felt like I was walking into a local favorite. On the menu, they have your usual diner foods and Hawaiian favorites. My fiancé chose the loco moco and a butter roll over toast as his side. I chose my usual breakfast favorite two eggs over easy and corned beef hash and for my side, a butter roll as well. The loco moco had a savory hamburger patty and delightfully light gravy sauce. Our butter rolls turned out to be a dinner roll split in half, buttered and toasted ever so slightly on the buttered side, which left a nice light crunch. They make their corned bee hash as a nice round disk of goodness, and like the butter roll, this disk of goodness had a thin crispy membrane on both sides and not too salty. I’ve never had pulverized corned beef hash formed into a disk before and found this to be quite a novel idea to enhance the crispy membrane on the corned beef hash hockey puck. The last thing we added on our to go was two famous coco puffs, which are chocolate custard filled cream puffs. I’m not a huge fan of cream puffs, so I’m probably not a good source to say whether these were bomb or not. However, I did enjoy the smooth chocolate custard filling.
Conclusion: Cozy and friendly neighborhood diner/bakery with good ol’ Hawaiian comfort food. 4/5 beeps!
