My dream has come true. Writing for free food has happened. Public School in downtown Summerlin invited little ol’ me to sample their new brunch items. I’ve already eaten at Public School a few times already and have already developed quite a taste for their fresh food with a spin and fun classroom inspired decor (love all the details!). Brunch happens to be one of my favorite meals, so how could I have turned the invitation down?
Feast, we shall! Shari was our awesome server. Please, do take her advice if you ever dine here because she had the awesome recommendation of trying the Eggs Benedict Pizza.
Bloody Mary – Something that will grow some hair on your chest and shock you out of your hangover in a good way. Comes with their delicious signature naked chicken wing
Beermosa – Even more refreshing than a regular mimosa. Bubbly and hoppy for adult tastes
– What made my eyes light up on each of these was the oozy over easy eggs. The easiest way into my heart is to give me a oozing yolky fried egg.
Chicken Sausage and Cheddar Grits – Savory chicken sausage with grits formed into a semi firm form in a whole PARTY of bacon. Bacon everywhere = Good
Eggs Benedict Pizza – When I think Eggs Benedict, I think of the typical hollandaise sauce with Canadian bacon. I only have Canadian bacon when I’ve been feeling guilty about eating too much regular porky, fatty bacon. This pizza proved to me that I can actually really enjoy eggs benedict. I like THIS kind of eggs benedict. This had a thin pizza crust that held it’s integrity through the entire meal (see the side profile pictures), OOEY GOOEY egg of course, crispy brussel sprout leaves, grana padano shavings, which is hard cheese comparable to parmesan reggiano. I’ll come back for this breakfast pizza any day.
White Bean Toast – To compliment our two main dishes, I decided to add some pig out with this white bean toast. Why not? It added two thick slabs of bacon on each with some frisee greens, creamy hummus and over easy egg.
Conclusion: Solid brunch. Go try it.
