Fat Girl’s Thanksgiving 2008 Food Adventures…. (minus BIMI which is closed on sunday! i was going to try a new restaurant…. *whine…) anyhoo. oldies but goodies (Class 302, Echigo, Din Tai Fung, Sapp Coffee Shop) always hits the spot – lots of noodles and chinese breakfast items + one newbie (Yung Ho Restaurant)

Class 302 – oh boy. tho i’ve never had metal boxed lunches, but sitting in an old school chinese classroom replica and in cute little wooden desks brought feelings of nostalgiat that i shouldn’t have, strange feeling, but tasty!! sorry… i was so huungry i forgot to take pictures! next time, i promise. the box lunch i had had crispy chicken roll (ji juen), chinese sausage, and minced pork and pickled veggies.

Sapp Coffee Shop – anthony bourdain likes it. i like it. my thai friend likes it. winner? i think so! flavor burst of noodles and beef beefy spicy goodness. i think the broth is so precious that they give you just enough to cover the noodles and meat. i slurped up everything. EVERYTHING.

Went to Earthen in Rowland Heights for beef noodle soup (hong xiao niu rou mian), onion pancake (cong you bing) and pork dumplings (zhu rou sui jiao).  chewy, soupy, tasty, Nom nom nom nom nom….

ok peoples…. are you ready for this one? I visited socal this Labor Day Weekend because I totally missed the beach, and of course, all my favorite food! I didn’t hit up everything that I wanted, but this was a pretty good sampling. Yip!

Echigo – tried and true omakase that never let’s us down. Simple, fresh and absolutely delicious fish. We had extra uni and the crab hand roll as usual. and I’M TOTALLY DROOLING AS I TYPE THIS. omg…. *slurp!

blueberry haute cakes got a nice gritty cornmeal consistency. not too sweet and yummy with the side of warm syrup.
huevos benedictos – i think i would have liked it better if the beans hadn’t leaked all over the place. i guess i just have to eat faster?
mexican scramble – our fav of the meal. guac, tomatoes, onions. cheese…. yummy!
forgot the name of this glorified ding dong – very rich and yummy and it tasted amazing because we were so hungry!

Fluffy shaved ice, with condensed milk drizzled on top – almond jelly, green bean, grass jelly and mochi. cold sweet refreshing goodness. i missed it so much i even started eating the melted juices!
